And the f4.5 version takes 52mm filters. If you have a choice between
the two zooms used and in the same condition and there is a $200
price difference, take the cheaper! The older f4.5 lens is still
really excellent at the short and middle parts of its range, but
perhaps a tad inferior to the newer f4 near the long end - though
still quite good. A good alternative is the E series 70-210mm f4,
which has performance similar to the 80-200mm f4. These are all
excellent lenses, and noticeably superior to the AF 70-210 f4-5.6,
especially at the short end of the range.
