Yes - I do it all the time... (one does NOT normally suspend the
camera/motor by the strap - it is used for security reasons only...)
An easy way to make one is to thread a shoe lace through the
release-side eyelet, tie a loop a couple of inches from the eyelet,
and then another loop just big enough to allow the loop to be slipped
easily over the hand, but not as easily off. The camera is held in
the right hand when being used, and is placed in the bag when not
(it takes virtually no time to grab the camera from the bag, when
needed, and I have never lost a photo as a result of using a wrist
strap instead of those yucky, tangly, camera-damaging, uncomfortable
neck straps [I find the shoulder strap even worse, since it offers
virtually no security]). BTW, the F3/MD-4 has a very nicely designed
handle for hand-carrying - it balances well in an easily gripped
position with any lens.
