I occasionally use that mic wrapped in air-conditioner foam
to decrease wind noise. The foam is cheap at hardware stores
here, and I cut a piece large enough to place under the whole
mic and fold up over the top of the front to the rear
of the mic top, then folding up the sides and holding them
at the top with a plastic-bag clip. This is over the wind
screen provided for the mic - and it gives one layer of
extra foam on the mic bottom and front, and two+ layers on
the mic sides and top. BTW, this is very effective on the
Sennheiser MKE300, and the VX-2000 mic so equipped can be
used in a surprisingly strong breeze without wind problems.
