The worse low-light range is not only due to the
smaller CCD size, but to the higher pixel count
(both force the pixel size smaller, resulting in
lowered sensitivity...). Guess Sony listened to
all those complaints on the NGs about the "too
big TRV900"...;-) People more often went for
smaller size/weight than for price/low-light-range
(look at the popularity of the tiny expensive
megapixel 1-CCD camcorders with poor low-light
range, when they cost about as much as the better
3-CCD TRV900...). The market goes where the money
is...
