All the mini-DV camcorders I tried (except the VX-1000, most of the time...)
have a "whine" in the audio when using the built-in mic
(this includes the Pan AGEZ1U..., though I did not check out the
EZ30 on this [couldn't find a headphone jack! ;-]). The Canon ZM-100
is a nice-sounding compact stereo mic that solves the problem on
camcorders with a power socket, but the TRV-9 doesn't have one, so
I rigged a small external 6-volt battery pack for it.
