Used, by all means! Nikkors retain their resale value well, once the
initial new vs. used hit has been taken, so they can often be bought,
owned for a while, then sold for no net loss (assuming a good initial
buy of a normally-priced lens in good condition, and assuming that its
condition has not degraded while in your "care"...;-). As for which to
buy, it depends on use. All are good, but the uses for which they are
good become more specialized (and expensive) as they get faster. you
