If the EIS is like that in the Sony Mini-DV camcorders, in
good light the picture difference with it on or off is
VERY subtle (other than for the excellent stabilization),
but as you begin to push gain up in low light levels, the
100th-second shutter speed for the DIS (compared with 60th
with it off) robs noticeable gain, and the picture will
look noticeably worse in some low-light levels...
