I really don't like the way video looks, buy that's the only thing I can use.
You're right, video is a sketch that should be used as a business card to get
money to shoot the real thing.
I kinda like video myself...
It can shoot motion more sharply than film, you can experiment all you
want without breaking the budget or ruining original film negatives,
you can do fancy graphics without having to pay someone else to do them,
sound-synch is no problem, the tonal response is easily adjusted, as is
color, exposure, contrast, and even sharpness. For good quality on a good
27" TV or excellent quality on a good 20" TV, the best Mini-DV is fine;
film (especially 35mm) can do better, but it doesn't get done; with video,
for me, it does get done since I can afford to play with it as much as I
want...
