Either use a "ripping" program to convert the
sound to .WAV, or play the CD on the computer while
simultaneously recording it with a sound editor
(I like Cool Edit - www.syntrillium.com). It can
then be imported into Premiere and placed in an
audio track on the timeline and edited.

I suppose you could output the rough-cut to tape for
convenient viewing while recording the narration
into the computer with a decent simple mic, sound card
with mic input, and sound editor program; or use a
mini-disk or tape recorder (or camera) to record the
sound, then capture it into the computer...
