A series VII fisheye converter, like those made in the past by
surprisingly many different manufacturers (I have had 5 different
ones), can work very well and produce images that are sharp to
the corners (if "AE[A]" is used, and f5.6-6.8 is selected), and
can be mounted to the VX-1000 using a 52mm->series VII step up
ring. (These are not "zoom-through", and you must turn off the
stabilizer and zoom out enough to remove the corner vignette.)
They do vary in corner sharpness, so selection is advised, and
some are not coated (the sharpest ones I have aren't, darn...
- anyone know where I can have the three elements coated?),
and will produce ghost images with back light. I may have a
lesser one to spare, if you get desperate, or you can check
with Porter's Camera to see if they still sell them, or keep
watching for the ones that turn up on r.v.m occasionally...
Hope This Helps
