It is normal to make color saturation/balance, brightness,
contrast, tonal-relationship, and sharpening/smoothing
adjustments while editing (among other possibilities), and
several filters are provided in Premiere (and other editors)
to help accomplish this. Unfortunately, of all the possible
faults in the original, overexposure is the hardest to
correct very well (you cannot replace highlight detail
that is missing - though considerable detail can be
extracted from the shadow areas if the footage has been
underexposed...). Too late now, but when shooting,
risk underexpose rather than overexposure when in doubt
about the exposure - it can usually be fully corrected,
if necessary...
