With video cameras, I use a good UV filter (Hoya
single-coated UV is good enough) on the lens when
not using a WA converter or another filter. Leaving
the filter on can cause problems with reflections,
dust, and vignetting. Most WA converters do not
have front threads, but often a large enough filter
can be fitted over the front edge and taped on, if
need be - but remember that dust up front of these
WILL SHOW in the image, so you MUST keep the glass
surfaces near the front clean. BTW, one of the best
(and moderately-priced) WA converters for the VX2000
(see www.David-Ruether-Photography.com/WA-converters.htm for
frame-grabs with various WA converters on the VX2000)
is the Raynox .66X (it is not good near max tele,
though...), which does have a front thread, but to
avoid vignetting, you would need to step up the 72mm
thread to maybe 82mm, and use 82mm filters...
