I tried one of these and thought it a disaster...;-)
It wasn't as smooth as better tripods, and the legs were
not rigid enough to resist "wind-up" with pans/tilts,
resulting in backlash... I bought the Bogen 3021/3063
(about the same quality, but cheaper), and a used bigger
Cartoni for the price of the Alpha for Mini-DV use.
