Ah, yes, the trials an' tribulations o' th' lens-checking nut...;-)
One problem with updating the evaluations has been that new Nikkors
are often VERY 'spensive big teles (for which I do not have a great
need...). Another is that new Nikkors are AF's, and my distaste for
them may be well known by now... (I have little desire to buy these,
unless they are really different from, or clearly superior to,
existing MF versions). Yet another reason is that I moved, and my
familiar distant targets are gone (and it has taken a while to get
used to the new ones). Also, the budget (time and money) has moved
toward throwing resources at house fix-up, to medium-format gear,
to satisfying video and audio manias..., and to that devil, the
'net...;-). I am kinda working on SLE(MN) version 6..., but there
are not many new lenses, just a probable revision in the rating
system, a few more words, and a general rerating of the lenses
(mostly zooms, for which I have been having fewer fond feelings
of late...;-).
