Um, I assume you have changed the battery...;-)
(A quick check for whether or not the cause of the jam is to
change the shutterspeed to M250 or B - if the mirror returns
and the camera operates normally at these two speeds, the battery
is most likely in need of replacement [though the meter will fail
stay on the usual length of time {as a low-battery indicator}
before the battery fails on the FE-2].) If the battery is OK,
sometimes a gentle playing with the camera unjams it (turning
the sprocket wheel while cocking the shutter, winding and releasing
the self-timer, etc. [all GENTLY, without force!] clears jams for
me about half the time when people bring jammed FM/FM2/FE/FE2's
to me. If that fails, the Nikon repair facility is not too far
from you - call 1-800-NIKONUS for info.
