I've been known to buy the cheapest Sony tripod with
the remote (about $75), remove the remote, and give
away the tripod...! ;-) BTW, one can use one hand to
operate the tripod pan/tilt, and hold the Lanc controller
in the other hand (I add an extension to the lanc
cord - this also permits operating the camera when it
is mounted high on a light-stand pole...;-)
