If the rig will support the stationary camera OK,
then fine - but don't expect to be able to use
the head's pan/tilt functions while shooting
without seeing the effects of using too-weak
"sticks" (backlash movements may result...).
BTW, if you can shoot low, with little (if
any) leg extensions, the rig may serve well
enough for movement during shooting... (it also
helps if you keep the base of the head as close
as possible to the intersection of the legs -
don't add a "leveler" device in between).
