With MSP usually comes CG-Infinity, one of the best titling
programs for Mini-DV (which ordinarily has problems keying
text cleanly over motion-video). The trick is to import the
video clip into CG-Infinity, not the CG-I title into the
editing program. The effects are limited, but with the
motion tool in the editor you can do about anything with
the title.

Slow, but good, at least for text over plain backgrounds...
BTW, Ulead's Cool 3-D has some neat effects, and also looks
great over plain-colored backgrounds (and not bad over
still-frames from the video...). (The titles for the
www.visitithaca.com web site were done with it, too, and
these could have easily been animated GIFs...;-)
