The late AIS is the size of the "E", and also has plastic
barrel parts. There is also an all-metal-barrel version
(with rubber focus ring) that is the same size. These plus
the "E" and AF are the same optical design, and can all be
first-rate lenses in good samples, and they have unusually
low linear distortion for fast normal lenses (and they are
suitable for copy work, stopped down a bit). BTW, you may
