The Nikkor 100/105mm lenses are all good (though I'm
least fond of the 105 f4 M and the f1.8...). The 105
f2.8 M (MF), 105mm f2.5 AI/AIS, and the 100 f2.8 E
are all really first-rate (and sharp to the corners
wide-open at medium and long focus distances [the
macro is also fine close up...]). (BTW, you may find
my Nikkor evaluation list [on my web page under
"I babble"] kinda interesting...;-) As for feel, it
is hard to beat the 105mm f2.5 Nikkor. Durability
is not an issue with the metal-barreled MF Nikkors.
