It is better than the above would indicate - Nikkors without the prong
at f5.6 (E, AF, a couple of AIS lenses, mirror lenses, and lenses on
tubes or bellows) can be metered with older bodies using the stop-down
method. (This may not be correct, but I think you set the Nikkormat
meter for stop-down reading by moving the meter pin on the camera fully clockwise, then mount the lens. Push the DOF preview while metering.)
