Posting the serial number in the rec.video NG's
(especially rec.video.marketplace) may be a good start...
I would also contact Sony service centers. Also watch
Ebay auctions of VX-2000s for the next few months, and
request the serial number from each seller (make up an
excuse about sound problems with certain mfgr. runs, if
necessary...;-).
