But only in "lowish" light...
In bright light, the PC-1 stabilizer does not
degrade picture quality...
(Engaging it switches the shutter speed from
1/60th to 1/100th on the PC-1 and several other
Sony one-chip mini-DV camcorders, forcing a gain
increase when the light level is low enough for
the lens diaphragm to be wide open before engaging
the stabilizer - and under some conditions the
color and "grain" are then noticeably worse.)
