: Can anyone tell me why this happen. When I film the sky with my VX1000, or I film something bright, I tend to see a faint shadow in a portion of the sky or bright area. It is not really that obvious. I used different TV monitors and I still see it, so it is not the TV. I had a VX-3 camera before and I remember that sometimes I see some dark areas also. It is hardly visible and can only be seen if you look for it, but it is there. ????
In addition to what T.E.D. wrote, you may want to check carefully
for dust on or in the lens. With small stops (as encountered
when shooting something bright), dust or mars on the lens can
begin to be included in the DOF range, and with smooth subject
areas, may be quite visible. This problem is especially bad with
WA lens converters, BTW, which MUST be kept spotless since
even tiny bits of dust on the front surface can show.
