I may have misunderstood what you said, but if not, the above cannot
be right, since the framing mask in Nikon "F" series cameras is below
the viewing screen - framing accuracy is determined by the mask (unless
the VF area is reduced [only - not increased] by obstructions above
the screen). All the "F" finders show the same area - a near 100% duplicate or the film area.
