Why not preview the whole video you wish to export (even if you
do that in pieces...) - it should restore the sound, and may smooth
the rest (let me know if it does! - I may spring for a faster CPU,
if it does...! ;-).

With my gear, if I cut and copy the last frame of the previous
AVI-file-to-be, then add it to the next AVI-file-to-be, when the
saved AVI's are played back to my camcorder (off any combination
of drives) there are no gaps/hitches/glitches/etc., even if the
split occurs during motion or sound - it plays as if the multiple
AVI files are one large file.
