I do hope that all those folks who seal away their photo equipment
with a couple bags of desicant know that the effectiveness of even
freshly resuscitated desicant is mighty short lived, and that
preventing air flow around equipment is one way to encourage the
growth of the &%#%* fungus! Either leave equipment out, or seal it
in the company of a considerable quantity of desicant - bulk jars
of indicator silica gel are available. When dry, the gel is dark
blue - when wet (saturated), it is pink (the change happens quickly).
It is restored by baking in an oven, or by cooking (with stirring)
in a sauce pan - cool before using.
