If it is a turboprop (jet), it will be smoother than
a reciprocating-engine type - and either may be smoother
than a plane, but unless the air is still and/or the
pilot very skilled, it may surprise you how much motion
you still have to deal with - and it will be VERY noisy.
You can often sit next to the pilot, with the door removed
on your side - or, if the budget permits a larger 'copter,
you can open the side door in the area behind the pilot,
attach a camera mount at the edge, and sit in the open door
with your feet on the runners... (do strap yourself in! ;-).
At $400/hour for a jet 'copter (and a VERY hefty fee to get
the 'copter to/from the location), your expectations may be
high - but this is not easy work...
