Due to the megapixel design, the PC110 sensitivity is
not high for shooting color, but removing the IR-blocking filter
("night-shot") and using B&W-mode, combined with a
slow shutter speed [but with action, you will not want to
use that]) allows good image quality in fairly low light.
Adding illumination helps, but visible light may scare
off the bats. I don't know if IR is visible to bats, but
if not, using a good IR light may help (the Sony offerings
are narrow-angle and low-powered - I added a number 87
filter to a 30-watt light, with moderate success out
a few feet from the camera).
