The Sony (and some others) can shoot in infrared mode,
using a nearly invisible on-camera or accessory IR
source (switch on B&W mode, to lose the "toothpaste
green" color...). Leave the tape out of the shooting
camera and connect it to a VHS VCR with T160 tape
in it (to record up to 8 hours on VHS). A tripod is
useful, but the camera could be propped appropriately
on nearby furniture...
