The Canon is quite insensitive to sidelight, and a small
cardboard "lip" taped on top takes care of the sun and
other bright overhead lights; the Raynox is sensitive
to sidelight, but it has a 72mm thread (stepping this
up with rings, then mounting a common shade on it is
practical); Cavision offers an inexpensive, large 82mm
clamp-on shade that can easily be adapted to several
converters with that common front diameter...
