["PEEPS", I suspect, are those yellow-coated marshmallow
chickens so popular in the US for Easter baskets, though
I do try to post only from direct experience and
observation, and I'm just guessing here - but the
"true scoop" on all this is summed up below...;-]

A peep is the "background-brand" (Panasonic) yellow
chicken, with that excessively "warm" look in its most
recent compact model... I'm glad to see BD so aptly
sum up the "C-brand loyalists vs. everyone-else" NG
"wars" above (even if presented in easily-deciphered
code...) - though he did leave out any consideration
of those big, heavy (JVC) cream-eggs... And, yes, after
careful observation, I find that (Sony) Jelly Beans
do in fact have superior color purity and saturation
(and more neutral color balance, overall, when mixed
together), compared with the dark-orangish (Canon)
"chocolate-loyalists" favorite bunnies... Jelly Beans
are sharper, too, especially when left in the sun
for extended periods, compared with those large
hollow overpriced-for-what-you-get chocolate bunnies.
The "best" Easter-candy choice is obvious, given
the above - and the best performance-for-the-money for
general Easter candy-munching is clearly Jelly Beans!
And, I'm sure this self-evidently-true conclusion will
immediately be attacked most vociferously by those
"C-loyalists", though, and so yet another long thread
now begins...;-)
