Find two wide rubber bands that fit well over the end of the lens.
Focus the lens to minimum distance.
Place one rubber band on the lens just behind the filter.
Place the other rubber band around the filter.
Wrap thumb and first finger around the lens end over the first rubber band.
Wrap thumb and first finger of the other hand around the filter rubber band.
While gripping the filter as evenly and lightly as possible (without slipping), unscrew it (it worked every time I tried it - when others
had given up [the first rubber band may be unnecessary]).
