I have not noticed whine from my PC9, though this is a
common problem with one-chip small camcorders... It is
possible to remove it using a noise reduction module in
a good sound editor. The least expensive one I know of with
the noise-reduction included is the excellent Cool Edit
(see www.syntrillium.com). It is not generally practical
to remove the whine using normal notch-filtering since
the frequency range is often too wide.
