I have not heard of such a device, but if only one stereo
track is recorded at a time, I can see a problem with
the relative duration of error-correction with very long
recording time on a "short" tape...
And, what is wrong with the A/D-D/A converters on video
cameras? They appear to do a fine job, generally (I have
not heard of one that doesn't...).
