----No. The Kodak zooms seem to equal (for better or for worse), the ----Kodak prime lenses, which are adequate, but not great.

----Try one, go from there.
>-what is important to know about the aperture?
----Wider may not be better (less sharp, less DOF, etc.). The Kodaks
----(and others) can sometimes be improved by adding a black paper
----"diaphram" inside the rear of the lens, stopping it down about
----one stop (less bright, but often sharper - and film curvature is
----a bit less of a problem).

----CF, unless you glass-mount slides. BTW, plastic mounts seem to
----allow a bit more curvature in the film than paper ones do.

----No problemo... BTW, I tried a Schneider Prolux, was no happier
----with it than the Kodaks. A Schneider Cinelux AV finally did it for
----me (the Leica folks won't like this, but it was hard to tell a
----Leitz 90mm f2.5 from the Kodak zoom..., maybe it was a bad sample).
----Hope This Helps
