Try saving after EVERY change...
Or set the auto-save interval active and small.
See if this works before trying anything else - a
good set-up of Premiere WILL crash if the project
is not saved often enough (usually it crashes just
as you are thinking. "I'd better s.....[expletive
deleted]!").
