Use the motion tool, as you started to do, but type in the
appropriate location and other values (found by experiment),
and remember to specify the same values for both ends of the
clip. Specify the background color as black, and the transparency
(try setting "alpha: use clips" for the second clip). BTW, I
did this for placing two stereo images side-by-side for direct
3-D viewing - fun!!!
