IM(NS)HO, the GL-1 has the worst image of all the
current 3-chip Mini-DV camcorders under most (but
not all...) possible shooting conditions compared
with all others, and at a price that is higher than
the generally-better TRV900, and not much less than
the very noticeably better VX2000... If you like
halos on edges, reduced resolution, and stair-stepping
not only in the usual horizontal direction, but also
the vertical, and a mic that sounds terrible (and
with non-defeatable AGC), then I alsop recommend
the GL-1...;-) Its strength (singular...;-): a good
20X zoom lens that also performs well at wide stops.
