The lenses can be "AI'd" by john White (whitejt3@aol.com)
for $25 each, and they will still operate properly on the older
bodies. Some recent bodies allow lifting the AI body tab (press
the DOF preview button while metering...): FE, FM, F3, F4.

Yes, all of them. The metered bodies need to be used in
stop-down mode for metering with lenses without the
"prong", but virtually all of the current MF Nikkors
still have the prong (the AF, E, and P don't...).
