I'm not familiar with the last distinction - tell me more...
(I was referring to TC 1.4X models...).
By "old style", I mean the larger, older version, before
the "macro-focusing" smaller newer one, which appears to
optimize resolution at mid distances (and never appears to
me to be quite as sharp as the older one...).
