I just posted an article on my web page for an alternative
way to use Premiere, called, "Premiere Basics for Intuitive
Operation Using Timeline Editing...". It references P-5.1,
but P-6 is close enough to be able to use it and much of the
suggested layout. I think Adobe made a mistake with their
interface, as it appears when P is first opened - it
is not easy to start with. The article is here:
