I don't know what Monika was doing, but no, there is no
noticeable loss in image quality with repeated copying
of Mini-DV material if it is copied through the FireWire
connections. BTW, I often add filters, effects, titles,
etc. to footage, render and export it, then reimport it
for more work - no problem...
