I had forgotten about this - but for good reason: I have a
couple of them, and the RS version does not fit the plugs
reliably, giving me intermittant connections. While
seemingly awkward, the mini-"Y" + dual-mono-to-stereo
combination is manageable and has proven reliable...

Yes, mentioned in my post above... It is quite useful
when mono mic sensitivities are similar.

The RS version has a metal exterior, serving as a sheild.
Adding spacers on the plug-in end did not get me a reliable
connection, though...
