Guessing here, but the switching for "stereo" sound on the
VX2000 from a mono mic may depend on what the camera "sees"
electrically when the mic is attached, and this can vary with
different mic types. I solve this with a RS mini-plug
mono-to-dual-mono "Y" adapter, plugged into a RS mini-plug
dual-mono-to-stereo adapter...
