Oooops! Sorry! I misread your post (people often ask
which is better, dual smaller monitors, or one
BIG one - and I prefer the former due to the
usefulness of the horizontal space. As for YOUR (;-)
question, 17" flat-panel monitors have 17" diagonal
viewing area; CRT-types generally deduct 1" from
the rated diagonal, so 19" becomes only 18" or so...
(but these are available in flat-surface tube types...).
All else equal, I prefer the image "look" on a tube
type monitor, but I like the size/weight/cool-operation/
low-distortion (CRTs are getting MUCH better with this,
lately...) of the panel displays...
Toss a coin, and see if you like the result...;-)
