>I'm getting into sports photography
I used to make some serious bucks shooting little league, kids soccor, etc.
I went out one day and photographed a kid whose parents were obviously
into their childs soccor playing. I had about four shots on the end of a
roll. So I set my tripod up, and took four shots. I printed a 5x7 of the
best one and put it in a cardboard frame. (the folding type). At the next
game, I went to the father, and offered it to him for my cost. He freaked
over it. (I had used a 300mm f4, and got a pretty good close-up pic of
their son fighting to get control of the ball). Then I just went and hung
out a little downfield. Within ten minutes, four parents came to me to
photgraph their kids. Naturally, I told them the first one was an
accident, and I couldn't possibly do it for cost. Damned if they cared.
Before the end of the month, I had requests for more than twenty photos,
5x7's @ $15 and 8x10's @ $25. Not bad for a beginner.
The shots weren't even wonderful, altho they were far better than any of
them could do with their snappy's. I found a part time job, doing what I
like and making good money.
