Mixing tape brands was a major "no-no", especially Sony with other
brands, due supposedly to lubricant incompatibilities - but
with Sony tapes ending in "2" (like "DVM-60PR2") this
problem was reputedly solved... Did your Sony tape have a
"2" at the end (unfortunately only visible on the outer
wrapper...)?
