: what is the best way to change the depth of field with the vx1000.
: how do you blur out the background and only have the peson in the forground in focus and then shift it the other way so that the forground is in focus and the background blurred?
: pressing the infinity sometimes work and pressing the auto focus makes everything in focus.
DOF is affected by angle of view, viewpoint (distance between
lens and "subject"), and aperture used - to minimize DOF,
use the lens zoomed toward the tele end, get as close as
possible to what you are shooting in the foreground, and use
a wide f-stop (set the camera in AE-A mode, dial in the widest
stop [toward f2 rather than toward f11], and if in bright light,
engage the built-in ND filter to keep the shutter speed from
being too high [causing strobing and bright-light smear]).
