Well, the MF 35-105 (and the similar optic'd AF non-"D") version can
be one of Nikon's best mid-range zooms (and better than the "D"...), but
it suffers from unusually high sample variation, alas... The
"D" version is very good, as is the 35-135 (stopped down...). BTW,
you may find my Nikkor evaluation list (on my web page, under "I
babble" interesting...).
